The World’s First Transparent TV Is Now Available for Purchase

LG has officially launched the world’s first transparent 4K OLED television—and it’s turning heads.

The groundbreaking model, named the Signature OLED T, is now available for preorder at $59,999.99 directly through LG’s website. First introduced at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), this 77-inch display offers a futuristic viewing experience with both transparent and opaque display modes.

In transparent mode, the TV seamlessly blends into its surroundings, offering a see-through visual effect where the environment and on-screen content coexist. When turned off, only a slim, minimalist frame remains, giving the illusion of open space and enhancing modern interior design.

LG has taken innovation even further with its new “T-Objet” mode, which transforms the TV into a sleek digital canvas. It can showcase artwork, photos, or videos with vibrant OLED clarity—even while the screen remains partially transparent.

Another standout feature is the “T-Bar” mode. This setting displays a slim information ticker at the bottom of the screen showing real-time updates such as weather, sports scores, or music titles, while keeping the rest of the screen clear and unobtrusive.

In addition to its visual upgrades, the Signature OLED T is completely wireless. LG’s proprietary tech ensures lossless audio and video transmission with no noticeable lag—eliminating messy cables and maximizing style.

This bold release comes shortly after LG unveiled the world’s first stretchable screen, capable of expanding up to 50% beyond its 12-inch base size. While that flexible display isn’t hitting the market just yet, the transparent OLED T offers a futuristic alternative that’s already within reach.
