Rolls-Royce’s First EV Is in Such High Demand, the Marque May Have to Build More: CEO

ROLLS-ROYCE SPECTRE

ROLLS-ROYCE SPECTRE ALREADY A HIT BEFORE PRODUCTION BEGINS

Despite not being produced yet, the Rolls-Royce Spectre electric vehicle (EV) is already proving to be popular. CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös has stated that the company may need to increase its production target due to unexpected high demand for the vehicle. Despite the recent price cuts by Tesla and Lucid, the market for premium-priced EVs still exists, as Müller-Ötvös was pleasantly surprised by the customer interest in the Spectre.

The Spectre is a dual-motor super coupé that can produce 576 horsepower and go from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds. With a nearly silent powertrain and a cabin sound system, it has the potential to offer a peaceful ride. If interest remains high, the Spectre may become a highly sought after vehicle even with its rumored $400,000 price tag.

Rolls-Royce plans to only sell fully-electric vehicles by 2030.
