LG has just raised the bar for gaming technology with the launch of its revolutionary new bendable display.
Set to debut at the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the LG UltraGear GX9 series includes the world’s first-ever bendable gaming monitor, the 45GX990A. This 45-inch OLED monitor delivers an immersive experience with a stunning 5K2K resolution, offering rich blacks, vivid colors, and precisely tuned brightness. According to LG, it also minimizes blue light and includes a special anti-reflective coating, ensuring maximum eye comfort even during long gaming sessions.
What truly sets this monitor apart is its flexible screen. At rest, it looks like a standard flat display. But with a quick adjustment, it curves into a 900R arc, wrapping around the user’s field of vision. This bendable design creates a heightened sense of immersion and has already earned LG a CES Innovation Award.
The 45GX990A isn’t just about looks. It’s equipped with Dual-Mode technology, allowing gamers to quickly toggle between different resolution and refresh rate settings. Users can also fine-tune the aspect ratio and screen size, tailoring the visuals to match their playstyle.
Smart features make this display more than just a gaming tool—it doubles as a versatile entertainment center capable of streaming content from various platforms.
LG has yet to confirm the pricing or official release date for the 45GX990A. However, last year’s UltraGear model—which had fewer features—launched at $1,400, hinting that this version will come at a premium.
This announcement follows a string of innovative releases from LG. Earlier this month, the tech giant revealed the world’s first transparent television, shortly after showcasing the first stretchable screen.
