Etihad Airways has just taken luxury flying to new heights—on shorter routes.
The UAE-based airline has revealed its all-new A321LR aircraft, a single-aisle plane designed for short- and medium-haul flights, including destinations like Milan, Zurich, and Bangkok. What sets this aircraft apart? It’s the first time Etihad’s iconic First Class Suites are appearing on a narrowbody jet.
With only two First Suites onboard, the experience is as exclusive as it gets. Each suite features a fully flat, forward-facing bed that stretches out to 78.65 inches. The seat itself is 21.5 inches wide and even has space for a companion to join you during the flight.

Passengers can enjoy a full turn-down service, complete with Giorgio Armani loungewear, before drifting off. When it’s time to dine, à la carte meals are available any time. A massive 20-inch 4K screen rounds out the in-flight entertainment setup.
But the luxury begins long before takeoff.
Etihad First passengers receive full concierge support 24/7, along with a private chauffeur service to and from the airport. First Class tickets include dedicated check-in, personal escorts to the First Lounge, and seamless boarding. Flying from Abu Dhabi? You can enjoy bag-free travel thanks to Home Check-In and Land & Leave services.
“First isn’t just a seat—it’s an experience that starts the moment you choose to fly with us,” said Etihad CEO Antonoaldo Neves. “We’re bringing First to more destinations and elevating it at every touchpoint.”
The new A321LR also brings upgrades to the Business and Economy cabins.

Business Class features 14 fully flat beds, each stretching 78 inches long with 17.3-inch screens and ample storage. Economy offers 144 seats, each 18.4 inches wide with a 5-inch recline—better than your typical short-haul setup.
All passengers will enjoy high-speed Wi-Fi, live TV, and streaming, powered by Viasat.
Etihad’s A321LR will begin service on August 1, with 10 more new aircraft expected to join the fleet this year.
